As an Existential psychotherapist, it has been an honour for the past 25 years to provide counseling within the community including schools, prison service, health care, corporate settings and private practice.
Existential therapy can support you to uncover new perspectives moving forwards that enable you to feel less overwhelmed by life's challenges and develop a greater acceptance of life as it is. This unique model of therapy can help with issues such as isolation, and sense of aloneness, self esteem , relationship issues, depression , anxiety, identity crisis, bereavement and loss.
Unlike other forms of talking therapy that turn to psychology for answers to wellbeing , Existential therapy looks to philosopy . This means you a move beyond just your thoughts and personal history to a larger context of the world itself, and how you fit in within it.
The benifits of working form the Existential perspective is it helps to develop a new awareness of who you are and what you value.
Existential therapy also helps you to find meaning and purpose in life and help recognise what is holding you back and to understand your own power to change and accept what you cant change. Finally Existential therapy serves to help you gain confidence with decision making, have a sense of belonging, feel more conected with youself and others and more at ease with yourself and your life.
I can either work exclusively from an Existential approach or offer an Integrative therapy, blending Existential tools with other approaches, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to suit your therapy needs.
I look forward to connecting with you and supporting you with the next step in your healing journey.
